Open House at De Pijl

My Mum and I went to Mechelen yesterday for the Open House of the Belgian model railway club De Pijl. Their club-house is located in a freight staging station, in an old building owned by the Belgian national railway service. The club house has a main layout on one floor, and a few other separate layouts.

It's definetely worth the visit - See below the photos I was able to take of the exhibition. Apologies for the low quality of the photos, I don't have the most performant of cameras.

Fresh photos of our future house

Since I had a day off today, I decided to go to Rue Brogniez to see how the construction works were doing. I planned ahead and took the camera with me so I could share with you how they're moving along.

The big news is that the terraces which are going to be for the apartments in the main building, are nearly finished. The metallic structure supporting them has been put up, and they're in the process of putting the bangkirai wood floors.

Rumour has it that windows and doors will be installed within a few weeks. We've got a meeting of the co-owners' association this weekend, so hopefully we'll be getting some good news.
